How to connect correctly

For most of our lighting systems , we do not automatically supply the power supply. The professional Easy FIX and Eco FIX systems, as well as the Hobby Line range for home use, allow individual components to be extended or connected in various ways. So you can light your house, trees, pergola, garage or any other place from one socket and only need one source. Our customers often extend their installations every year and usually do not need another source.

Each connector is different, yet they fit together perfectly

Each element of the lighting system has a screw connector at the beginning and end, we refer to one as male and the other as female. Use these connectors to plug in your power supply or connect your lighting to other lighting components. Each of the connectors has an overmolded screw nut on it to secure the entire connection. Rubber shrink-wraps are always included with each product for maximum prevention of water ingress. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to seal the shrink wrap over the screwed joint. You don't have to worry about anything, you don't have to be technically proficient to handle everything with ease.

EASY FIX

The Easy FIX professional lighting system requires 230V to operate. In order for everything to work properly, the power supply must have an AC/DC bridge, or rectifier. The AC/DC bridge changes the AC current into DC current, which the LEDs require to function properly. In our offer you can find 2 types of power supplies. The first type of source cable, with an inseparable AC/DC bridge, is suitable for single line connection, i.e. up to the maximum possible length of the lighting system. For example, for light chains this is up to 200 metres.

If you are planning a larger project or if the maximum possible connection to 1 source is not enough, you will need a source cable with separable AC/DC bridge. This will be used for more complex connections, when you use splitters and separate bridges to create another branch of the light installation.

A wide range of extension cables, T-junctions and separate bridges, available in black and white cable colours, make wiring easy. So even the installation of more complex connections is very simple.

Degree of protection or IP

In 2019 we have upgraded our range of professional lighting systems and started using connectors with IP67 protection. Due to the higher degree of protection, the connectors of the Easy FIX system are designed slightly differently than the original IP44 ones, so they cannot be interconnected. However, both series are fully adapted for outdoor use. If you already have some of our Easy FIX light chains or stalactites at home and need to purchase additional pieces to complete your decoration, you have nothing to worry about. We have reducers in our range for interconnecting connectors with different IP.

A reducer is actually a short black or white cable with an IP44 connector on one side and an IP67 connector on the other. To choose the right reducer, you should always follow the direction of the current, i.e. from the source.

Examples of using a reducer

If we need to connect a newly purchased IP67 chain to an existing IP44 system, we use an IP44 to IP67 reduction.

On the other hand, if we want to connect a newly purchased IP67 source cable to an IP44 EasyFIX light system that we have had at home for some time, we use the IP67 to IP44 reduction.

ECO FIX

Another of our range of professional lighting systems is the Eco FIX. This product range is suitable for outdoor and indoor use and there is a strong emphasis on aesthetics. The cables are transparent and smaller and larger crystals are used in some light strings, which, due to the refraction of the light, look beautiful even during the day when the decoration is not lit. Most often, these light elements are used to produce 2D or 3D light decorations.

The connector connection of the individual segments is the same as in the Easy FIX series, the connectors match the colour and size of the cable.

The Eco FIX system is low voltage, it requires a transformer to operate, which converts 230V from the socket to 24V or 36V depending on the product type. The transformer box has a connector on one side for connecting the light segment, and a connector on the other side for connecting the source cable, which plugs into the mains.

HOBBY LINE

Hobby Line is a range of lighting elements suitable for domestic use, both outdoors and indoors. A thin transparent or dark green cable and tiny LEDs are the main features of this system. Thanks to the light weight, the installation of the lights is easy and does not require the use of anchoring elements, usually just plastic pull-tabs or various eyelets or hooks.

The connector connection of the individual segments is the same as in the Easy FIX series, the connectors match the colour and size of the cable.

The Hobby Line system is low voltage, it needs a transformer to operate, which converts 230V to low voltage. The transformer is part of the power supply in this series and you can choose from several types. 6V for basic wiring and 12V for larger installations, with or without animation. The transformer without animation simply plugs into a socket and the light system connected to it lights up. For the transformer with animation, you can choose from several preset functions at the touch of a button, such as dimming, different types of flashing, gradual lighting, etc.

In addition to light chains suitable for Christmas trees, this range also includes stalactites, light curtains and curtains ideal for illuminating windows.
